What constitutes a review? If it's a blog or other type of website, the review should tell you what it's about in general, about the design, and what kind of content is available there. There should be at least 2 or 3 outbound links embedded into the post. If it's an article review, or "speed-linking", it should at least tell you what the article is about and include a link.

Including the blog or website name in the post title, for a full review, should be common practice. Anchor text is important as well. It does that site no good whatsoever to include a link with anchor text (like "here") that isn't directly related to the content. I try to use this blog as an example of how it should be done, but even I fail to do it the right way all the time.

I'm getting ready to write a website review on my main blog, not only because it's well-indexed and has a Google PageRank of 5, but because it's the best place to put it since the content is specifically related to that blog. It just makes more sense to put it there instead of here. That shouldn't stop you from requesting a blog review here, however, because this blog will eventually rank as high as or higher than that one because it's more tightly focused on reviews.

Here's a list of blogs that do blog/website reviews or article reviews of some kind:

• James at Men with Pens asked "Should You Tell People Their Blog Design is Ugly?" and drew a variety of comments, 72 at last count. In my opinion, the answer is yes. Even if a person is offended by it, it can only help them.
• The man behind Blog About Your Blog, Matthew, did a review for "HealthRanker: Social Media Health News", started up by Fat Man Unleashed. Health Ranker looks like it's turning into a valuable health reference site.
• K at Shankri-la does a feature like "Good Reads: Buzz in Blogs 2008-03-02" on an irregular basis. He always comments about each of them.
• Aaron of Full Tilt Blogging.com also does an irregular feature, "Daily Blog Summary March 31, 2008", but he only lists articles from the best of the make money blogging sites.
• A blog that specializes in blog reviews is Bloggeries Blog Reviews, the latest being "Make Money Online with EJ Cooksey - Blog Review". I don't know how Chrissie selects the blogs to be reviewed, but I hope she eventually reviews one of mine.
• Rocky John of Blogging Mix does website reviews on occasion, his latest being "Smarter Way To Get Your Graphic Designs Done". I'll have to go back and read more at the contest site because it sounds like it could save people some money.
• Vic, the Blogger Unleashed does occasional website reviews for sites that will make you money with one of the latest being "Build a Niche Store BANS Review and Tutorial". Vic includes a video in almost every post now.
• Abhinav Sood does free blog reviews as primary component of his Inspirit Blog. The last one he completed was "Blog Review - Stuff to Get". Hey, that looks like a pretty good resource for free and low cost stuff!
• Scott of Search Commander did a critical review, including a video "Site Review - Flightstoswitzerland.com".
• Finally, Frank C of OpTempo does blog reviews, although he isn't soliciting any more for free reviews. His latest blog review was "Blog Review: Station Atomica". It looks like he has 41 in the queue right now.
